Founded in 1946, the POS is a society of about 250 orchid enthusiasts and professional growers serving the San Francisco Peninsula. The Peninsula Orchid Society is a nonprofit organization, affiliated with the American Orchid Society.
We are an active society of more than 200 orchid lovers, of all ages, occupations, and growing experience, located in the heart of Silicon Valley in California.
The meetings of the San Francisco Orchid Society will be held on the first Tuesday of every month. Located at San Francisco County Fair Building, adjacent to Strybing Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.
SFOS is the main AOS judging site for the Northern California region. Plants submitted for American Orchid Society Judging must be entered between 6:30 p.m. & 7 p.m. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m.
The Orchid Society of California is dedicated to the culture, protection, and appreciation of orchids all over the world. The Orchid Society of California brings together people interested in the culture and propagation of orchids, and also serves an educational function in disseminating information about orchids to the public. -Supplemental AOS Judging center - see times under SFOS.
